The Fall 2025 season of New York Fashion Week is officially a-go. As per the official calendar released by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Brandon Maxwell kick-started the 6-day event. The American Texan-born designer, who founded his eponymous label in 2015, presented his Brandon Maxwell Fall 2025 collection as names like Keke Palmer and RHOSLC’s Bronwyn Newport sat front row. To commemorate a whole decade in the business, Maxwell dressed his army of models in everyday staples from silk slips and shirting to leather sheaths and plaid skirts. The elegant show boasting American sportswear classics, proved to be a nod toward Maxwell’s signature design principles and a glimpse at the future of the label.

“For the first time it feels more mature, which I like. Brandon Maxwell is finally going in good direction.” [BelkaniStaCouture]
“Some lovely coats and separates here. I like the grownup chic vibes.” [fashionmarketvibes]
“It’s definitely more refined than his usual stuff. It reminds me a bit of 80s Calvin Klein.” [GoldenPetals]
“It’s not great, but it’s sophisticated and presents a clear idea of the woman he wants to dress. It feels like what New York fashion should be. Actually reminds me of the NYFW shows from the 90s.” [Kennnnn]
“I think these are frumpy clothes. A child cosplaying and adult. I just don’t appreciate his hand in design. I think with these rather sober and minimal clothes the cut and the hand is everything. A delicate or minimal shape can be sensual and revealing. Here they are blankets of textile, like sofa throws.” [Norden]
“That full leather look with the pants towards the end is appealing. It’s forgettable but it works.” [Lola701]
