Yesterday, on day two of New York Fashion Week, one of the most highly-anticipated moments on the schedule took place: the unveiling of the debut collection of Veronica Leoni for Calvin Klein Collection. After a six-and-a-half-year hiatus from the calendar, the all-American label is back. Leoni welcomed guests like Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and the legendary American designer himself inside the former office of the late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy (who worked as a publicist for Calvin Klein in the 90s). Leoni tapped into some signature style codes of the iconic brand, presenting a lineup of trench coats, tailored suits, and capes (crafted in wool, brushed cotton, and silks).

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“The clothes are a non-event. They are available everywhere already.” [Lola701]
“Very sober and minimalist. In the 90s this was something unexpected and new in a certain sense. Now, with all the old money and quiet luxury brands, it just seems like something we’ve already seen.” [fashionlov]
“Depressing as hell.” [liberty33r1b]
“I honestly quite enjoyed the presentation. It doesn’t strike any major emotions in me but that might be fine for what it is. However, there’s something about this that feels rather Raf Simons – like a muted and subdued CK205W39NYC and recent Prada seasons.” [Overindulgence]
“This doesn’t feel like luxury at all. Most of the fabrics and looks you could find in Zara. What is the point of reviving the brand if you are going to offer something that looks like your 2010s collections?” [ReneSanchez]
“We have seen this a million times. You can go to COS/Dutti. So what’s the point of buying Calvin Klein Collection by Veronica Leoni?” [GivenchyAddict]
