Anna Wintour stays true to herself as editor-in-chief of Vogue. After all, with Wintour at the helm (a position she’s kept a tight grip on since 1988), we have come to expect a mix of old and new favorites on the American fashion bible’s front covers. Thus far, a selection of new faces (including Sabrina Carpenter and Angel Reese) have graced the title throughout 2025. The release of the April 2025 issue sees Wintour welcome Gigi Hadid back onto the cover of Vogue – for the fifth time. The American model poses for famed photographer Annie Leibovitz for the occasion, complete with Alex Harrington on styling duties. In the commanding cover photograph, Hadid strikes a pose and gazes down Leibovitz’s masterful lens dressed in a look from Alessandro Michele’s Spring 2025 Valentino collection.
Gigi Hadid for Vogue April 2025:

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Here I was opening the thread hoping to see something sunny and vibrant with a model like Gigi, and instead we have this. What a horrible cover,” shrieked LastNight.
“Gigi Hadid? Yawn,” sighed forum member Summer Day.
“There are other models other than those nepo babies, you know,” oaklee91 declared.
Sharing the same underwhelming sentiments was Serend1pity. “Everyone has moved on from Gigi Hadid bar Anna – the woman is stuck in 2016. People want to see Vittoria Ceretti, Anok Yai, Alex Consani etc!”
Yet not everyone felt the same way. “I like this cover very much! It feels lush, in terms of coloring, photography, and lighting (and I’m not even a Leibovitz fan). The cover overall feels very fashion and full of drama. Quite a strong strong and commanding cover – it’s got presence,” voiced vogue28.
“I like the cover because it does not look like it was shot by Leibovitz. I like the color scheme and Gigi looks good,” echoed MModa.
