Given the fact Matthieu Blazy will not be presenting his debut Chanel collection until October, the fabled French fashion house continues to power on through until the highly-anticipated event occurs. The powers that be at Chanel HQ continue to run with the theme of familiarity, and bring back Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin to lens the mainline Chanel campaign for the Spring 2025 season. To correlate with the show setting (unveiled during Paris Fashion Week), the Dutch photographic duo captured a portion of the campaign within the historic and newly-renovated Grand Palais. Models Amar Akway, Ella McCutcheon, Libby Bennett, and Nigina Sharipova were cast as the faces of the studio-designed collection, posing both within the Paris landmark and inside I&V’s studio against a classic grey studio backdrop.

“Clearly shot on a budget. The Grand Palais is such an incredible space that it does most of the heavy lifting. It’s going to be quite some time before we see a campaign with a point of view,” noted GivenchyHomme.

After all, not everyone was left so unimpressed. “Nothing groundbreaking but nothing offensive either. Perfectly adequate as they transition from Virginie Viard to Matthieu Blazy. The campaign imagery itself is easy on the eyes, and I like the mixture of Grand Palais and studio-shot images. Also a fan of the casting and the beauty styling,” said vogue28.
